The company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join their Westbrook Maine team.

The Civil Engineer/Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks such as conceptual planning, zoning review, site design, stormwater management system design, and permitting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical, regulatory and CAD designs as well as project bidding and construction contract administration. The Civil Engineer/Project Manager will also be interacting with clients, contractors, and local government officials, as well as working closely with staff to progress projects. This is an opportunity to impact the entire project from design through construction. Primary Responsibilities:
- Driving and coordinating the effective delivery of civil engineering projects that meet the required outcomes for clients and key stakeholders ensuring timely completion and within budget.
- Establishing and maintaining effective, professional relationships with relevant stakeholders including clients, government agencies and allied professionals.
- Providing leadership, direction, mentoring and training to the team.
- Drive operational efficiencies and quality of each project.
- Preparing fee proposals and submissions.
- Contributing to the development, growth, and expansion of Walsh Engineering Associates’ portfolio of clients and projects
- Delivery high-quality projects and service to clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands and priorities.
- Ability to effectively present projects to local permitting authorities (i.e. planning board and staff review committee meetings).
Requirements:
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking
- Ability to drive team results
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with PE
- 5+ years of site/civil engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency with HydroCAD stormwater modeling or other hydrology software
- Competency with grading, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, gravity sewers, pump stations and stormwater BMPs
- Understanding of local and state permitting including experience with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, stormwater, Site Location of Development, NRPA, as well as local site plan and subdivision permitting is beneficial.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

Requirements:
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking
- Ability to coordinate with project managers on all project details
- Ability to drive project permits
- Degree in Environmental permitting or related experience
- 5+ years of land use permitting experience
- Experience with local site plan and subdivision approval
- Experience with Maine DEP permitting, included Site Location of Development, NRPA, Stormwater, and Shoreland Zoning
- Experience with Army Corps Of Engineers wetland and dredge permitting
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Coordinate bookkeeping activities including, payroll input, and invoicing by importing billable hours.
- Maintain and update project schedules, expenses, reporting and budgets.
- Deliver and pick up documents at various government agencies.
Job Requirements:
- Office administrative experience required.
- Excellent customer service skillset, along with strong writing abilities expected.
- Experience in marking and/or public relations a plus.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Experience with Ajera bookkeeping software a plus.
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, One Note, and Photoshop
- A valid driver’s license for errands.
